Major municipal projects can take years to plan, approve, fund and complete. Severn Explained follows significant Township projects and explains what is being proposed, what Council has approved, how the project is being funded, where it stands and what remains to be done.
How We Track Projects
Project information will be based on Township budgets, staff reports, Council decisions, contracts, studies and other official records. Where costs are discussed, Severn Explained will distinguish between preliminary estimates, approved funding, contracts and actual spending.
Project Status
Projects can change as planning progresses. Each project will be identified by its current status so residents can tell the difference between an idea being considered, a project that has been approved, work that is underway and a project that has been completed.
Completed – The project has been completed or substantially completed.
Approved – Council has approved the project or funding, but implementation has not yet been completed.
In Progress – Work, planning, design, approvals or other implementation is underway.
Proposed / Under Consideration – The project has been proposed or is being investigated, but Council has not yet given final approval to proceed.
